The meetings goal of alcoholics anonymous meetings is to help recovering alcohol abusers quit drinking and get sober. Alcoholics anonymous follow 12 specific steps and principles which helps addicts to admit their past and wrongdoings, make amends to those whom they have wronged and learn how to identify triggers and get themselves out of bad situations

Narcotics Anonymous was started in 1955, which was 20 years after AA began. Their goal is to help people stop the use of drugs. Anyone with any type of addiction can attend, including alcoholics. They also hold weekly meetings at no charge to participants or members.
